skiing lesson #2

We went back up to the mountain yesterday for the boys' 2nd ski lesson.

The older boys were together with 1 instructor and he did really well with them.

They even got to go on the chair lift!!!

Brenden had an instuctor that took ski insruction very seriously!

I laugh about this because, well, this is Brenden, and he's 3!!! But he responded to her well and learned a few things!

First time skiing!

We finally took the boys up to Lookout Pass yesterday to go skiing. We've been saying we need to do this for a couple years now. It was a very nice, sunny day, and the boys loved it.

They all received 3 lessons each as a gift at Christmas. So this was lesson 1! It wasn't very busy, so they each had their own instructor. They did great! Brenden was much more interested in taking his skis off and rolling down the hill, but he did figure out how to stand up and glide down the hill a bit on his skis after a while. He was also very happy about the cocoa/cookie break!

Josiah's teacher taught him very "Josiah-style" and focused on the basics before taking him up the hill. Josiah was very cautious and was actually completing controlled turns!

Conrad's teacher fit his personality as well and just let him grab the rope-tow, shoot up the hill and fly back down! Conrad would go as fast as he could with his skis in a wedge the whole way down!

Birthday week

Josiah turned 9 this week!

My mom also had her birthday this week and so did Uncle Kris!

Because we were in WFR all week, we've been celebrating Josiah's birthday in bits and pieces all week. My parents were here the weekend before and we had a cake and presents with them. Then this weekend we had pizza and another cake that I had a friend make, (I stuck the Playmobil guys on top, but I just don't do frosting decorating myself) We planned to go to the movie in town, but they changed the showing, so it's not a kid movie anymore, so we'll go next weekend instead!

Our puppy!!!!

Friends of ours have a wonderful male Golden Retriever and they got a female black lab mix so they could have puppies. Well, the puppies are here and we've claimed one!!! We haven't picked out a specific one yet, but one of these cuties will will be ours! I'm such a silly puppy-mom already, I checked on Lacie, (the mama) several times while she was pregnant, and my friend called me the minute the first puppy had arrived and I was over that evening to see them! It helps that I'm at their house several days a week anyway, but I just can't stop by without also checking on the puppies! Can you tell that I am very excited!?!
