Family Photo Shoot

Our friend Tim Andries took some family photos for us as a gift. We sure appreciate him doing this for us and I really like the way they turned out. Brenden goofed off a lot and the older boys got bored very quickly, but that's our family!!!

My munchkins!

Josiah and Conrad are munchkins in the Wizard of Oz at their school this year!

Their first performance was last night and they'll have another one tonight. Brenden and I have had a stomach flu for a couple days, so Zach and I decided not to go last night, but we'll go tonight. Zach got a couple pics last night when he picked them up though.

So...as soon as they got home, Josiah started throwing up!!! Oh dear. So he's home today and most likely will not be in tonight's performance and Zach and I wont both be able to go see Conrad together. Sometimes these little inconveniences in life are so very frustrating! I wont be surprised if Conrad comes down with it before tonight as well.

But they sure are cute little munchkins!

Happy birthday to Josiah (a month late)

Hee hee. I'm not a very good bloggy-Mom.

But here are some pics from Josiah's 8th birthday back in the beginning of March!

This was the first time we let him invite friends and plan a party. We've done planned family parties and impromptu parties with friends from Camp, (mostly adults). But this year we let him invite kids from school and a friend from town. In fact, the entire 2nd grade came!!!

Ha ha, there's only 3 kids total in the 2nd grade, Josiah and his 2 friends!

The school friends stayed for a couple hours and the other friend stayed the night. A few guys from Camp came over for pizza and computer army games that evening too.

Zach had planned a few more outside "army guy" games, but the new snow made that difficult, but they still had tons of fun!

It's long enough!

Josiah has been growing his hair out for a while. He really wanted it to be down over his eyes. We made him trim it when he was the ring bearer in Kris and Krissy's wedding, but then let him start growing it out again afterward. Now it's been long enough and I decided to cut it. He hates to comb it in the mornings and he's constantly pushing it out of his eyes.

He looked in the mirror afterward and said, "Wow! I look good!"

Our first Solo WFR!!!!

Jan. 26- Feb. 2 was our first time teaching an 8-day Wilderness Medical Associates Wilderness First Responder course without bringing in an outside instructor. This is a pretty big deal to us and has been a long process to get here. The week was intense and overwhelming and also very rewarding and overall went very well. Zach's mom was here to help get the boys to and from school and stay with Brenden. She did the daily tasks at home so when we got home in the evenings we could focus on the next day's lesson planning and hug the kids.

The students did great. We expect a lot from them. We keep them in class 8-10 hours and then give them another 1-2 hours of homework! These students are already trying to juggle their other college courses as well. In 8 days we expect them to retain a large amount of medical information and apply it in practical skills.

(Josiah got to be a patient for us this time. He was so excited! His job was to act like he was having a severe asthma attack and a dislocated right knee. He did GREAT!!!!)
