A conversation between Conrad and myself after I picked him up from school this afternoon...
Conrad, "There was a new kid at school today!"
Me, "Is he in your class?"
Conrad, "Yes, and he's 5 just like me!"
Me, "So he's in kindergarten too?!"
Conrad, "Yeah! So I'm not the only kindergartner anymore!"
Me, "Cool! What's his name?"
Conrad, scratching his head, "Uh, I don't remember."
Me, "Okay, well, do you like him?"
Conrad, "Yes, and I don't even erase his work off his paper!"
(Yes, erasing another kids' work was a problem earlier this school year.)
I also think it's funny that Josiah and Conrad have been referring to each other by spelling their names.
Conrad will say, "I put my homework in J-O-S-I-A-H's backpack."
Or Josiah will say, "C-O-N-R-A-D, where did you put that toy?"
When they say Brenden, they usually say, "B-R-E..n..."trail off.
I'll ask, "Who left the crayons out?" I hear, "J-O-S-I-A-H!!!!"

Hi Cori, it's taken me a few days to find time to post a comment....but I have LOVED reading all of these "daily life" things lately! I can SO relate. The crayon thing would have happened at our house, too! I did buy a "bad batch" of diapers lately and Reuben would wake up every morning with his (full) dipe down around one ankle. He would be hobbling around the house in his fleecy footie pajamas with this huge bulge down at the bottom, poor thing! He finally learned to climb out of bed and IMMEDIATELY ask to be changed! But this two-year-old cryptic language thing causes funny situations!
Hey Cori, I've enjoyed catching up with your family through your blog (thanks to Lynne & Jer's blog). It was nice to see you @ in Spokane for the holidays; we hopefully will be coming up this summer to hang w/you and your family. I look forward to hearing about what God is doing in your lives and hearts. Keep in touch, visit our blog if you like. (I hope it's ok, that I placed a link on our blog for our friends to view as a source of encouragement, if not let me know and I'll remove it.) Peace & Love ~ Heather
Cori, I loved reading all your posts. I'm so bad about reading even xanga posts when they make it so easy for me, and so I never remember to check the blogspot ones! I am sad that I do that because instead I go around missing you and wondering what's going on rather than checking what you've written which is worth lots of laughs, smiles, a sniff or two and a big sigh.
Anyway, I caught up now, and I can't wait to see you. Thanks for telling me about Josiah. I'm so glad he remembers me! Love you all,
Jess
Hi Cori ~ Daniel was really encouraged by seeing and sharing with your husband a couple weeks back. That was such a cool surprise. Anyhoo, while Zack was here we discussed coming to BigHorn for a weekend and hanging (for some alone time) & also hanging with you both. Can you forward your e-mail addresses to us? We've arranged to have Daniels' parents watch the kids we're just trying to confirm a date, around the end of July or beginning of August. My e-mail is heatherc@sabey.com & Daniels' is daniel.cosby@yahoo.com. Peace & Love, Heather Cosby
